Froch: Nottingham is my fortress - 23/05/2012
The Cobra vows to punish Bute for coming to his hometown
Carl Froch has told Lucian Bute he is going to enjoy punishing him for choosing to defend his IBF World super middleweight title in Nottingham.
Froch has never been defeated in his hometown and while the 34 year old praised the undefeated champion for choosing to fight him in Nottingham, he warned the Canadian that he was making a big mistake.
“He is coming to Nottingham - my city, my hometown, my fortress,” said Froch. “Anyone who is anyone is going to be there on Saturday shouting and cheering for me, and that's going to give me such a lift. I know what it's like to fight against the crowd from when I went to Denmark to fight Mikkel Kessler.
“If Bute thinks he can come here to my home and beat me he's wrong. To come to my backyard insults me, I'm going to punish him and I'm going to enjoy it. Thanks to him for coming over but he's making a big mistake.”
